Faring the Winter

It's been cold here in Oklahoma the last week. Temperatures reached freezing and we were faced with frozen water tubs and frozen hoses. The horses need a little extra loving in these times. They're bodies are working hard to keep them warm, and even though we haven't ridden them a ton this winter, they still need nutrition as though we were.

I took a mineral block out and you would have thought it was candy. They hovered over it and licked, sucked, and bit at. Luckily I had two blocks. Five horses all wanting the same thing can be chaotic.

Tongues sticking out and all, these boys are pretty cute licking their lips. They have their heavy winter coats and look like big, happy fur babies. Luckily, the sun has come out today and the temperature has reached above freezing!
